Advisory (11/2012): SEP 11.0.x is vulnerable to an exploit involving specially crafted CAB files. The vulnerability is disclosed here. Symantec's response can be found here. Please upgrade to SEP 12.1.2 using RADS or one of the available install packages. Users that opt not to upgrade manually will be upgraded automatically.

You can find the current version of your client by opening the console from the shield icon in the system tray and selecting About from the Help menu at the top.

RADS is NOW SUPPORTED on Windows 8 and Server 2012.

RADS is a free anti-virus and anti-spyware service provided by the Rutgers University Office of Information Technology to all current students, faculty, and staff. RADS is compatbile with all Microsoft operating systems from Windows XP through Windows 8 and Server 2012. It works with workstation and server editions and runs on X86, AMD64, EM64T, and IA64 processors.

RADS 7 is based on Symantec Endpoint Protection Software.
